Engineering
Our team can efficiently engineer any cutter head of any type, size, or soil variant, thanks to decades of expertise and use of advanced design tools. The in house developed software programs such as CTR-SIM helps us in this process.
CTR-SIM is a unique tool developed by APTC to simulate and compare different types of dredge cutter heads used by many cutter suction dredgers.
Based on the cutter head related parameters , dredge operational parameters and soils parameters we can analyze the cutter power , tooth forces, wear , vibrations , production rates and more.
The tool can be used for any cutter head type, size and method of staggering.
The concepts can be bench marked against our extensive database, allowing rapid optimization and selection.
Consultancy
Among other things , we consult on:
- Modification cutting system / suction arrangement on ladder front part. We use our in house developed program CTR-EXAM. This program allows us to examine an existing cutter ladder front part in combination with the cutter head and estimate the potential production increase when modified to the latest state of art.
- Production issues
- Improving the capability of your dredger to excavate rock.
- Assist with cutter related parameters during the design phase of newbuild CSD.
Field Assistance
We have extensive experience re-fitting dredge cutter heads with our latest tooth systems. Our service includes verifying point positions and their distribution on the blade, as well as providing hands-on support during the refit. Upgrading your cutter head from an older type to a modern third-generation tooth system will improve productivity, lower total cost of ownership, and guarantees availability of wear parts and related services.
This work can be carried out in our workshops in the Netherlands or UAE, or directly on-site wherever your operations are located.
